Little Caleb.

This weekend we got to spend some time with Daniel’s family and love on the newest addition, our nephew. Caleb is getting bigger by the minute and is definitely at the stage where he wants to see everything and everything that he sees is so intriguing to him. He laughs a lot and loves to “talk” when he’s not being grumpy! Daisy (the grandmother) and I had a ton of fun singing to him and being crazy, basically doing anything to make him laugh. Soon he will probably realize we really are crazy but for now we make him laugh so we’ll take it!

Friday morning he was a cute, well-dressed baby with a full belly so I decided to take full advantage of the happiness and snap some shots of him. We set him near a window so some natural light could shine on him and we placed him on a nice soft white blanket for a nice light background. It was perfect for him and me, it was nice and soft and fuzzy, perfect for a baby’s head and it was also white, perfect for a photo background. Here are a few shots that I got that morning. Enjoy!

Family Matters.

This weekend we travelled to good ole Laurens for a family reunion with Dan’s side of the family. Family reunions are always great! It was my first reunion as a part of the Gibbs family so there was a lot of “so, who was that that I was talking to and how are we related to them?” coming from me and some from Daniel as well. There were a ton of people there, some I knew and that knew me and some that I had never seen before. The best part of the reunion was that we finally got to meet our precious little nephew, Caleb. There was a lot of confusion with some relatives about whether I was the mom or the aunt of the baby. Definitely gave way to many conversations about when and Dan are going to have a baby. Oh boy that was something!

After the reunion we decided to pull out the tripod and get some Gibbs family shots with the two new additions to the family, Caleb and I. Caleb woke up for a nap right as the rain cleared up right at the magic hour. The lighting was great and the tripod made the usage of self-timer so much better. My tripod has been used for sooo many self timer family shots, alot of family shots. That thing has been around since I was little. But it is super helpful for sure; much better than a tree, a railing, a car, or stairs (all of which I have used in the past). I would highly recommend investing in one. Here are some shots from the family photo shoot.

And lastly a shot of the little cutie Caleb.
